Marine War Museum
Based out of the Weiyuan Fort, this museum shows the history of the China-Britain Marine Battle of the First Opium War. You can find many weapons, battleship equipments, and battle documents here.
Weiyuan Barbette Field
Weiyuan Island, located in Humen Town, was one of the epic battlefields of the Opium War. It is, today, one of the best and largest well-preserved ancient battlefields of China.
Ancient Village of Tangwei
Tangwei Village, surrounded by an ancient city wall, was built in the Song dynasty. Remaining still today, there are 268 living residences. Families living here keep true to their traditional customs and ways of life.
Quejin (Bribery-denying) Pavilion Tablet
Quejin (Bribery-denying) Pavilion Tablet with a height of 184 cm and a width of 102 cm is a tablet made of bluestone with a foundation of red sandstone which makes it look colossal. It was built in the 21st year of the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1542 A.D., and is now located at the crossing point of Guangming Road and Jiaochang Street in downtown Dongguan.
Ancient Temple of Great Immortal Huang
It is about 30 kilometers away from downtown Dongguan. You may use Dongjiang highway and the East expressway to get to the temple.
Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Garden
Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Garden is 15 kilometers from downtown Dongguan, located in Chonghuan Dong Road, Shijie Town, just to the East of the ancient town of Shilong.Excellent transport and trade make it a great place for travel, shopping and leisure. It is the hometown of Ming Dynasty national hero, Yuan Chonghuan, who famously resisted the aggression of the later Jin Dynasty. Accordingly Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Garden situated in the former residence of Yuan Chonghuan to encompass patriotism and traditional Chinese virtues.
Huangchong Ancestral Temple of the Song Dynasty
Initially constructed in the ninth year of the Qiandao period of the South Song Dynasty (1173) about one thousand years ago, Li's Ancestral Temple is a comparatively early ancestral temple in the Pearl River delta area.
The ancient architecture cluster of Nanshe Village
Located in Chashan Town of Dongguan City, Nanshe Village is a key cultural relic unit under State Protections and a famous historical and cultural village of China. Established at the end of the South Song Dynasties, this village with a history of 800 years and an area of about 110,000 m2 still preserves a comparatively complete layout, streets and drainage systems of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The Jin'ao Tower
Built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty, the Jin'ao Tower is over 400 years old. It is an important relic and a cultural site currently under provincial government protection. It is a 40-meter high octagonal tower with a stone staircase built inside. Though the tower's design is simple, its silhouette is beautiful and grandiose. Scattered around the tower are gardens and trees placed near vivid stone statues of different shapes.
