Ancient buildings of Tangwei

Tangwei Village, surrounded by an ancient city wall, was built in the Song dynasty. Remaining still today, there are 268 living residences. Families living here keep true to their traditional customs and ways of life.

In the 39,565 square meters of Tangwei, visitors will find old temples, study rooms, water-wells and other proofs of ancient times. Some 28 pagodas tower over the village and protect its residents.

The Ancient Village of Tangwei was declared a cultural relic in 2002, protected by Guangdong Province.
