The first batch of 22 modern services and headquarter enterprises stationed the in Science and technology Park of Dongguan’s Songshan Lake (SSL) were opened for operation on August 4. Currently, more than 70 headquarter and R&D enterprises have been introduced in SSL. Thereby increasing its stature as a headquarter economy base in Southern China.
City leaders attened the openning ceremony of modern services and headquarter enterprises stationed the in Science and technology Park of Dongguan’s Songshan Lake on August 4, 2009.
Among the introduced enterprises, there are high-end modern service enterprises, headquarters, leading enterprises and newly emerged culturally creative enterprises.
"Though the economic situation under the influence of the financial crisis is not so optimistic, Songshan Lake has witnessed prosperous development,” said Mai Zhibang the member of SSL Administrative Committee. In the first half of 2009, SSL’s tax revenue totaled 630 million yuan, increasing by more than 60% when compared with the same period of last year. Leading enterprises, whose sales volume has grown by more than 50%, have especially outstanding performance during the crisis. The gross tax revenue for the government received from key manufacturing enterprises has increased by 93.79%. Enterprises in SSL also plan to employ more than 42,000 people within the coming year.
Chen Jianzhi the Secretary of SSL Administrative Committee points out that SSL should develop its own advantageous industries as soon as possible to maintain its edge. “Electronics information, biological technology and finance services will be the three key sectors in SSL”, said Chen.
After successful business invitations by SSL to Beijing, the Administrative Committee will go to the US to invite business and to consult with the biological pharmacy enterprises there in the second half of 2009. Business promotion activities will be held in domestic key cities such as Shenzhen and Shanghai before the end of the year.
