The second China International Animation Copyright Fair is to be held from September 30th to October 5th in Dongguan. In addition to the main site in Dongguan International Exhibition Center, a branch site will be set up in Songshan Lake.
The total exhibition area of the two sites will reach 70,000 square meters, an increase of 30,000 square meters from the last fair in 2009. In the main site, there will be 2,000 standard booths covering an area of 50,000 square meters.
"Dongguan is home to more than 1,000 animation-related enterprises. The fair aims to promote and attract animation-related enterprises with the upstream services and thereby boost the development of animation industry in Dongguan." said an official of the fair. The positioning of the second animation copyright fair will be clearer in order to focus on copyright protection and trade. It aims to establish a platform for animation copyright protection and trade and for the attraction of original animation enterprises with by-product services.
During the fair, themed activities will be held everyday. Currently, Macau Animation Culture Industry Association has contacted the organizing committee of the fair to hold 'Macau Day' activities during the fair. Original animation singers, cosplay teams and animation experts in Macao will be invited to attend the fair showcase their spectacular performances.
Internationalization will be another highlight of the fair. The organizing committee has reached preliminary agreement regarding cooperation with animation and copyright associations in Japan, South Korea and Australia. The exhibition layout will be classified according to nations and regions.
As the Scientific Centre, Research and Development Centre and Creative Culture Centre in Dongguan, Songshan Lake Science & Technological Park. The Industrial Park now has a cluster of original animation, cyber games, TV & film media and industrial design. To set up a branch site in Songshan Lake will be a valuable opportunity to promote Songshan Lake and boost the development of the animation industry in Songshan Lake, said experts.
The First China International Animation Copyright Fair last year attracted 450 enterprises exhibitors and about 450,000 visitors. In total, there were 120 deals with respect to animation copyrights that were reached with a value as high as 8.2 billion yuan. The index such as the exhibition scale and transaction turnover has set a new record among the domestic comic and animation fairs.
